Match Review-Stoke City 0-1 Liverpool 05/01/2016

Match review- Stoke City 0-1 Liverpool-05/01/2016

Liverpool have just beaten Stoke City 1-0 at the Britania Stadium after proving that we can do it on a cold, wet Tuesday night in Stoke.

Despite the win we have three players suffered hamstring injuries ahead of crucial games against Arsenal and Manchester United in the premier league. The first player to go down injured was Phil Coutinho midway through the first half after delivering a cross he went down and went and sat on a bench (which could be seen as positive). The next player to go down with ANOTHER hamstring injury was Dejan Lovren which was a shame to see because for me he has been our best centre back as of late so it was annoying to see that he had to go off, this also being i9n the first half. The third and final injury was Kolo Toure who pulled his hamstring as well just before the end of the match leaving Liverpool with no fit centre backs which is very stressful to see especially with the games coming up.

Anyway onto the positives Jordan Ibe scored the goal that seen us get the win after he came onto replace Phil Coutinho and gave us a well deserved win in my opinion because I thought that we where the better team definetly in the first half and arguably in the second half and if we can keep these performances up until the end of the season then we will get in the Champions League but that is a big IF.

My player ratings would be-:
Mignolet 6
Clyne 7
Toure 7
Lovren 6
Moreno 6
Lucas 8
Can 7
Allen 8
Lallana 8
Firmino 8
Coutinho 6

Ibe 8
Milner 7
Benteke 5

Anyway hope you guys enjoyed and give me your feedback down below Thanks!

Liverpool vs Stoke City Match Preview 05/01/2016

Liverpool vs Stoke City Match Preview 05/01/2016

Tonight Liverpool face Stoke City in the semi finals of the capital one cup where it is a chance for the players to avenger their poor performances as of late.

I feel as though this game can go one of two ways. If the players turn up and play well then we will win similar to the performance which seen us beat Manchester City however we could be the complete opposite and play like we did against West Ham which could see us out of the cup.

Brendan Rodgers had 3 years as Liverpool manager won 0 trophies and finished in the top four once. Jurgen Klopp has us in 3 months kept us in the cup competitions with us in the Europa league knock out stages and still in this cup at the semi final stage. I feel as though it is only a matter of time until we see success return to our club.

However, back to the game this will be a tough game we won here in August 1-0 thanks to a screamer from Phil Coutinho avenging a 6-1 defeat we suffered the season before. I am confident about tonight though because we seem to have this way of turning up in the big games and this is a big game leg 1 of 2 for a chance to play Manchester City or Everton in the future at Wembley.

For me if we want to win tonight the starting 11 needs to be-:Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Ibe, Lallana, Coutinho.

I'm not Lallana's biggest fan but we've only lost once this year when Lallana has started so that statistic alone makes me want to play Lallana even though I do believe that Firmino will come good before the end of the season.

However, my prediction for the game is-:
My head says Stoke 2-0 Liverpool
My heart says Stoke 1-3 Liverpool 3
So lets hope that my heart is right and there will be a review after the match as well Enjoy!

Who do Liverpool need to sign in January? (Summer briefly mentioned also)

Who do Liverpool FC need to sign in January?

Liverpool football club are as of right now one of the most unpredictable clubs that I know as we are currently beating team like Manchester City, Chelsea, Southampton and Leicester but losing to teams like Newcastle, West Ham United and Watford so as you can see the season is pretty much the most unpredictable there has been (in the 15 years ive been watching football anyway).

So the question that I was asking was who do Liverpool need to sign in January and my response simply is the players who are willing to fight for the team because against West Ham and Watford in particular there was none shown whatsoever where we have suffered a lot and never scored one goal.

The only player who we are close to signing at the moment is the young, 19 year old Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic who is likely to return to his parent club at the moment Red Bull Salzburg but the real question that I am asking myself seems to be is he good enough because admittedly I will admit I haven't seen much of him but the fight our team showed against the likes of West Ham last weekend shows that we need players who will fight for the shirt, the only ones I seen who seemed to do that on Saturday where Lovren, Can and perhaps Mignolet the others didn't seem like they wanted to play football and with Grujic coming who we haven't seen much of can we really have much faith in placing all our hopes on such a young player? because to me he will be learning for the first year or two and adapting to the league.

The only player who I have seen us linked to several times is Joel Matip as Liverpool are desperately in need of a centre back because in my opinion Skrtel should leave in the summer and Lovren and Sakho are not going to win us anything forming a duo at the back even though they looked solid until the West Ham game. Matip is 6'5 and he is only 24 and is out of contract in the summer so if you ask me, he is worth the risk on a free transfer and we need a defender so I feel as though we should move for him as quickly as possible to get his signature and look forward to him arriving at the club in the summer after he has finished this season with his current club Schalke in the Bundesliga.

For the summer, I feel as though Klopp will have a clear out after he has evaluated the squad and has seen who wants to fight to wear the jersey for him and who is there to pick up a pay check. The layers I can see leaving are-:
Allen-Not good enough
Flanagan-Out of contract been injured for 18 months
Bogdan-We will sign a new keeper meaning he's no longer needed
Lucas-Simply not good enough Grujic better replacement
Skrtel- Overrated CB shouldn't have given him a new contract

Benteke-Good player just doesn't fit our style of play and ruins our fluidity
Lallana or Firmino-Can see either leaving as Klopp will have his own ideas for this position
If you have anymore who you feel I should've included or you disagree tell me why and I will discuss these are the first names that pop into my head when I think of players who don't deserve to wear our jersey.

If you have any questions tell me down below and thanks for reading.
